About me
The University of Iowa Addiction and Recovery Collaborative (UI ARC) is dedicated to preventing opioid overdose-related deaths in Iowa. Our team offers free services to school districts, businesses, organizations, and communities throughout the state to raise awareness of opioid overdoses and increase access to naloxone (Narcan). Our services include:
• Addressing concerns and questions from stakeholders and community members,
• Assisting in updating policies and procedures to support overdose prevention,
• Providing training to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose,
• Helping organizations access free naloxone supplies through the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, and
• Supporting groups interested in becoming naloxone distributors in their communities.
