About me
Peter K. Fagen is a founding partner and serves clients from both the Los Angeles and San Diego area offices. A proven lawyer, leader, and administrator, Peter has extensive experience in the areas of board/superintendent relations, labor, personnel, students, business, voting rights, redevelopment, data privacy, construction and related litigation. A seasoned trial lawyer, Mr. Fagen has conducted bench and jury trials in both state and federal courts. Additionally, Peter is an approved trainer for interest-based bargaining and he is a trusted member of the negotiations team in school districts and public agencies throughout the state. Peter is the chair of the firm’s Client Services Group, which is a collection of attorneys and public education practitioners who offer services in areas related to education law. In this role, he frequently conducts workshops on internal board relations, board-superintendent relations, vision, goal setting and leadership for school district administrators and board members. Respected across the nation for his exemplary leadership skills, Peter is a member of the California School Boards Association Education Legal Alliance Steering Committee and the Association of California School Administrators Education Legal Alliance Attorney Advisory Committee.
In addition to presenting at numerous seminars and conferences, including the National School Boards Association (NSBA), California School Boards Association, Association of California School Administrators, Council of Urban Boards of Education, the Education Law Association, North American Association of Education Negotiators and School Employers Association, Peter is a past president of the California Council of School Attorneys, a member of the California Association of School Business Officials, the Leadership Committee, and a member of the NSBA Federal Relations Network, which affords him opportunity to meet annually with national leaders on education issues. Peter is Chairman of the Board of SAGE Global (Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurship), an international organization promoting student entrepreneurs around the world.
